Just got off the phone with Claude Parkey's wife, in Alamo, TN She said
Claude is still in the Veteran's Home in Humboldt, doing about the same.

We also learned at last night's eat out that Howard Taylor had had a knee replacement.
He seemed to be doing quite well, and Joyce is too, now..

We missed some of our regulars last night, however, we did have 21, including Sam
Gentry's sister, Margaret Walker, a graduate from that school on Bellevue.

Candy was in tornadoes in Oklahoma last week, and picked up the phone to check

Bill after you and I talked yesterday I called Robert SIngleton around
5 and caught him at home. He said that Barbara had had an upset stomach
for two days, but yesterday she ate more grits than she had eaten all week.
He feels that she is holding her own. He did say again, how much he has
enjoyed the "care basket" it had been a life saver.

On Tuesday, our class delivered a "snack basket" to Robert Singleton. As you
know, he is spending all of his time there with his dear wife, Barbara, at St.
Francis Nursing Facility..
We didn't know his likes, however, we must have hit the nail on the head, as he
called Candy to let her know how much he appreciated it. It also had a NASCAR
magazine in it, which we all know is his second love.

Email from Candy
After making a phone call out of the blue, I am sorry to report that our
classmate Virginia Craddock Kerr passed away in Texas, on January 16, 2008.
I spoke to her son, Robbie, and he said that she donated her body to Science and
she requested no service. I told him that it was the custom of our class to
send a memorial to St. Jude Hospital, if that was agreeable with him. He
thanked me and said that would be nice.

PRAYER REQUEST
I have just left St. Francis Nursing Home after delivering a
picture to Barbara McBee Singleton and Robert. She is in room 212, and not
doing well. Hospice has been called in to help the family out.
Robert goes home around 4 o'clock when one of his children come, and then comes
back for the night. Barbara is in a great deal of pain, which they are trying
to control. If you are in the area, please stop by to speak to Robert, I'm
sure it would help pass the time for him.

An interesting note,, I got as email!
Easter is early this year.
Easter is always the 1st Sunday after the 1st full moon after the Spring Equinox (which is March 20).
This dating of Easter is based on the lunar calendar that Hebrew people used to identify passover,
which is why it moves around on our Roman calendar.
Based on the above information, Easter can actually be one day earlier (March 22); that is rare.
Here's the interesting information.
This year is the earliest Easter any of us will ever see the rest of our lives!
And only the most elderly of our population have ever seen it this early (95 years old or above).
And none of us have ever, or will ever, see it a day earlier! Here's the facts:
1) The next time Easter will be this early (March 23) will be the year 2228 (220 years from now).
The last time it was this early was 1913 (so if you're 95 or older, you are the only ones that were around for that!).
2) The next time it will be a day earlier, March 22, will be in the year 2285 (277 years from now).
The last time it was on March 22 was 1818. So, no one alive today has or will ever see it any earlier than this year!
