The January eat-out was a great success on such a cold night. It was also a
family affair. There were 28 in attendance, including Bill and Lou Goodwin's
daughter, Seneca, Nancy and Dan Goodwin's grandson, Steven, and our classmate
from Texas, Rena Mason Brookshier, who brought her sister, Shirley Smith and
her daughter, Debora Skelton with her.
Before the dinner, I checked in with Robert and Barbara Singleton. Barbara is
still holding her own, but Robert asked that we continue to pray for them.

News from Mary Nell, Just to let everyone know I'm going to be a Great-grandmother again in Aug.! Stephen & Lexie (Doug & Sharon's son) gave us the news New Years day & we couldn't tell anyone until Mon. when they went to the Dr. I thought I would bust. Ashley (Mike & Joyce's daughter) had the first one in Oct., a little boy. Ashley & Stephen were born 2 weeks apart. We were really blessed to have 2 Grandchildren 2 weeks apart & to have a girl & a boy. I was 50 years when they were born & now Doug will be 50 when his 1st Grandchild will be born. I'm sure he would like for it to be a girl as they so wanted a little girl but they will be soooo glad to have a healthy one no matter which sex. "Mac" would be so proud as he so loved Ashley & Stephen. I'm sorry he didn't live to see the others. Three were born after his death. I guess that's why the Lord left me here on this earth. He was a graduate of Raleigh-Egypt High School in 1984 and attended Memphis State
University.

will enter Methodist Germantown on Wednesday, December 5, to have a knee
replacement, for a knee replacement which was done 12 years ago.
The Doctor has said it won't be a picnic and Jim is diabetic, so who knows.

Donald came through the surgery just fine. He was in surgery 5 hours
and the doctor replaced the valve and did 4 bypasses. He should be in the
step down unit Sunday.

Candy, Donald will have heart surgery Monday morning, Oct. 22 at Memphis Baptist.
He will have a replacement of the aortic valve with animal tissue and 2 bypasses of
previous bypasses. He says could be more than 2 bypassses but he thinks 2 is correct.
You remember he had to leave our reunion early because he wasn't feeling good, well
all of this is the reason. My niece will call me as soon as the surgery is completed
on Monday (2 to 5 hour surgery).

Talked with Jean (Barnes) Foran today.
She sounded in good spirits. She's still dealing with hospital things.
She had a clot in her adbominal, & had to deal with a blood thinner dosage,
She says her vision is still varying,,, sees ok some times and can even read.
Other time it's not so good.
She regrets missing the reunion, and sends everybody a 'Hello'

Medical Procedure
On last Thurs, a.m. I returned to Memphis from Myrtle Beach, interupting a work
vacation, following my R. leg & foot being ice cold once again, when I woke up on Wednesday . I saw my
Doc Friday in the ER and yesterday, and he has scheduled me for another arteriogram,
at 11 a.m. tomorrow, (Wed) to determine the extent of blockage, and immediately
perform another frozen balloon-blood plak procedure. The concept being to insert a
balloon into the R. Leg artery, inflate and freeze it along with the plak on the
wall of the artery, in the area of increased blockage. Upon removal, hopefully
the blood plak then becomes soluable and is eaten or asorbed by the tissue. This
will be the 2nd of this type and 5th overall procedures since Feb 20th. Total
time for both procedures about 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hrs. plus a following observation
period . Although the procedure has been refined to a relatively simple one,
except for the doc manipulating the catheter and wires so as not to puncture the
artery, it still carries a number of risks, including death. I am not fearful
of the procedure or death, because I know Him, Who is in charge, and I am claiming
God's victory in healing of my leg, whether by physical surgery or His Spirit's
healing power, which is also a physical result, but the most powerful of all.
Therefore pray with me and for doctor Fernandez and his team, and for me that
God will heal my leg, and use this time as a witness before the Doc, the operative
team and others to His mighty power, the same that He used to raise Jesus from
the grave. (Eph 1:19-20) I think we at times take God for granted, maybe somewhat
like in our own family relationships. God's power is so mighty toward us and in
us that He is 24-7 making us all He wants us to be in Jesus. (Eph 3:20 & Phil 1:6).
Thanks for your prayer and uplifting and your contuing walk in the Lord.
As for my small group, I'll see you next week.

passed away on July 20, 2007 at the age of 76. He is survived
by his wife: Deloris Ann Sowell Adkins, sister: Alma Loyce Tolbert of Texas; sister-in-law:
Frances Hanna of Louisiana, Nephews: Ronald E. Tolbert of Texas, David Hanna of
Louisiana. He is also survived by his nieces: Mearle Haydan of Alabama and Linda G.
Guillemette of Texas. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 23, 2007 10:00 AM Ð 1:30
PM at the Castle Ridge Mortuary. A funeral procession will depart on Monday, 1:30 PM

Mrs. Goss was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Brooks Goss, and son,

and Dawn Bockhold of Walls; three sons, Donnie Goss of Horn Lake, Scott Goss
and John Paul Goss, both of Walls; four half sisters, Linda Patton of Collierville,

WILLIAM F. JORDAN JR., 77 of Collierville, TN, passed away June 7, 2007
at the Baptist Memorial Hospital Memphis. He was an accountant and a member of Covenant
Baptist Church, served in the Navy. He was a musician and played in several bands around
town including the Bill Jordan Orchestra, The VA Hospital Band, The Al Chymia Dance Band
and the Al Chymia Marching Band. He will have a visitation on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the
Family Funeral Care on Summer. His service will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Memphis Memory Gardens. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Dixon Jordan;
one sister, Florine Jordan Cochran of Olive Branch, MS; four nieces and nephews;
11 great-nieces and nephews; and four great-great nieces and nephews.

ARNOLD LEON VAUGHN, 74, of Brighton TN,
went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 18, 2007. He was a retired Mechanic and
was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Vaughn is survived by two
daughters, Janice Van Natta of Memphis and Jill Cline of Olive Branch; one
granddaughter, Jessica Vaughn of Olive Branch and one sister, Mildred Cianciola
of Millington. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Julie Vaughn.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday evening, May 22 at Brantley Funeral
Home in Olive Branch. Graveside services will be in West Tennessee Veteran’s
Cemetery at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 23.

much more blockage I have in my right leg. My leg developed a coldness again
Friday a week ago.I have been informed by the docs that I still have a
risk of loss of it. I also covet your prayers and I am claiming God's power for
healing my leg and my problem and request that you pray very positive in this
fashion also.

BILLY SPENCE DAVIS, 74, of Memphis,
passed away Sunday, March 25, 2007 at Methodist University Hospital. A retiree
of Kimberly-Clark Corporation, he devoted three decades of service to the North
Memphis plant.A member of the Tech High School Class of 1952, Mr. Davis enjoyed
reuniting with his classmates at their regular monthly gatherings. He enjoyed
visiting with his friends and neighbors at Lewis Senior Citizens Center where he
was a member.Although offered scholarships to play college football, he chose to
serve his country in the U.S. Army. The beloved son of the late Opal Holder, he is
survived by his three children, Robyn Davis Birch and Randy Spence Davis of Memphis
and Ryan Scott Davis of Jackson, TN; and his former wife, Sherril K. Davis of
Memphis; four grandchildren, Joseph and Matthew Birch of Memphis and Chloe and
Cassie Davis of Jackson, TN; a sister, Shirley Laverne Williams of Memphis; and a
host of nieces and nephews, Cindy Williams and Roy Williams of Memphis, Terry
Ingram of Santa Rosa Beach, FL and Vickie Kincheloe of Jacksonville, FL.

Lloyd Sherwood "Mike" Inlow, Sr.,
Services for Lloyd Sherwood 'Mike' Inlow, Sr., 73, of Bolivar, are 4:00 P.M.
Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at ShackelfordÍs Bolivar Chapel with burial in Bolivar
Memorial Cemetery.
He died Sunday at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.
The widower of Joyce Inlow, who died August 3, 1987 after 29 years of marriage,
he retired as a chief Master Sergeant with the U. S. Air Force and worked for
the Hickory Valley Gin Company. After retiring from the Air Force in 1973, he
returned to Bolivar to make his home. He was a member of Bolivar First United
Methodist Church, was the first Director of the Hardeman County Ambulance Authority
and was county coroner for many years. Mr. Inlow loved woodworking, cooking and
fishing and his family stated that he was a 'loving father, grandfather and
friend to many'.
Survivors include one son, Lloyd Inlow, Jr. and his wife, Gina of Bolivar;
son-in-law, Tim Blankenship of Jackson; two sisters, Bonnie Ennis of Jacksonville,
FL and Wanda Humphries of Memphis; friend, Mary Powell of Hickory Valley; three
grandchildren, Molly and Hunter Blankenship and Casey Inlow; several nieces and
nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, March 27 from 6:00
to 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday from 3:00 P.M. until service time.
Memorials may be directed to the Hardeman County Arts Council.

     be in Memory Hill Gardens.
     Sandra is survivied by her son, Blade Cooper; Mother and stepfather, Mary Nelle
     and Harold E. Roach; father Hal Clifford Cooper; half-brother David Roach.
     Sandra was a graduate of Bartlett High School and a member of Bellevue Baptist
     Church. She was an employee of Shelby County Circuit Court.
     Memorials may be made in Sandra's name to the American Cancer Society or the
     Multiple Sclerosis Society.

     Let me be the 1st to say, THANK YOU, LORD!!!! I know that all of the
     improvement Mama is experiencing is due to A LOT of prayer from family &
     friends. I would ask that everyone keep praying!!

     I was so excited when Mama called me yesterday and told me she was calling
     to brag. I asked her, "What did you do?" She told me she had been able to
     read the labels on her prescription bottles. I had to call everyone & walk
     through my office to let everyone know about it. My boss asked me, "How do
     you explain that?" My immediate response was, "That is the absolute power of prayer!!!!"

Iris Maxine Green
Barbara McBee Singleton has shared with Mary Nell that Iris Maxine Green Punch's
husband, Garrett, called to say that Iris passed away on May 29, 2005.
We are all saddened by her death and send our prayers and sympathy to her family.
